Celebrate gaming in Belgium by showcasing belgian talents.

The Belgian Game Awards is an annual event that celebrates the achievements and contributions of the gaming industry in Belgium. It serves as a platform to recognize and honor the talented individuals, innovative games, and groundbreaking advancements within the Belgian gaming community.

The content.

Embarking on a journey across Belgium, we set out to capture the essence of the country's gaming industry by giving a voice to its talented individuals. The result: five captivating video capsules that blend personal portraits, iconic figures, and thought-provoking discussions on various aspects of the gaming profession in Belgium. These capsules not only highlight the diverse talent pool but also emphasize the universal nature of video games. Let's delve into the stories of two remarkable individuals we encountered along the way: JABA, the Belgian graffiti virtuoso and artistic director of Wild Bishop; Eversax, the esports coach representing the esteemed Karmine Corp; Ralph Szigeti, alto soloist of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège and video games enthousiast, etc.

Working on the production of the Belgian Game Awards evening program in collaboration with the RTBF teams and hosts Thibaut and Nensha was an exhilarating and intense experience. The live television format demanded meticulous planning and a precise vision of the events, which needed to be reflected in the scripted content.

Let's explore the process of creating an engaging and seamless program that captivated the audience throughout the evening.

  1. Collaborative Planning: The first step in crafting the evening program was to collaborate closely with the RTBF teams, including producers, directors, and technicians. Together, we outlined the overall structure of the program, determining the key segments, timings, and transitions. This collaborative effort ensured a cohesive flow of the event and a unified vision that would guide the production process.

  2. Precision in Scripting: Scripting the evening program required a deep understanding of the live TV format and the need for precision. The scripts had to be meticulously crafted, incorporating important details, transitions, and cues for the hosts, presenters, and production crew. The goal was to create a seamless and captivating experience for the viewers, ensuring that every aspect of the program was well-coordinated and executed flawlessly.

  3. Emphasizing Key Moments: Within the program, it was crucial to identify and highlight key moments that would engage and excite the audience. This included the opening ceremony, award presentations, keynote speeches, and other significant segments. The scripts were tailored to emphasize these moments, building anticipation and maintaining a sense of energy throughout the evening.

  4. Balancing Rigor and Creativity: Working within the rigor of live TV production, it was essential to find a balance between adherence to the technical requirements and the creative vision of the event. The scripts needed to convey information accurately, guide the hosts, and ensure smooth transitions, while also incorporating elements of entertainment, humor, and engagement. This fusion of creativity and structure added depth and enjoyment to the program.
